Last night I finished packing final things and spent time with Derik We ended up staying up because of messed up sleep schedules. Around 4-30 or so we headed out and caught a 15 to Union Station and then the a line to the airport. from there we had people help us through security and he hung out with me at my gate until it was time to board. I boarded around 7-40 or so and spent some time texting, talking to people and listening to music. Its a direct flight.. on the flight a super nice lady headed to Ireland bought me some chips. So nice of her. Landed at 1-40 and met up with Lee Johnson at baggage claim. Then met Zane the class instructor assistant. He ended up driving me back to the school and I saw Angela and Jeff, and met my instructor J.T. and some of the nurses. We discussed the sugar issues I've been having and the instructors carry glucose tablets and gel, and if I end up with a high number they are prepared for that, too. Then I went with J.T. for a building tour. The funny part about this is, he was all like I have to give you a cane for the first few days... its the rules... I... am the only one still walking without a cane, not sure why this was changed, but I will not, and I made that clear, lol. He also decided the building tour was pointless when I started showing him stuff he forgot about... Then we went and did an interview thing where he asked me about where I live, and preferences for the dog. I explained that I'd rather a softer dog in terms of corrections and management, a dog who is very careful of toe catches and right edges, a cudlly dog, prefer softer hair, and prefer a dog who wants and enjoys learning new things. He then asked if I had a color or gender preference and I said no. He then said what about breed, if I had a lab and a golden that would work equally well, do you have a preference. I said I don't even wanna say this, but since you asked, if that were the case, I'd prefer the golden, but would be just as happy with the lab. We then went and did a juno walk, and again, and I'm not trying to toot my own horn here which is surely what it seems like, but I blew him out of the water again. He was very impressed with my lateral movements, my honesty about pace and pull, and my memory for body language, corrections, turns, etc. After that I came back to my room, which funnnily enough room 105, is the same room I had when I got Garbo. Unpacked a little, argued with their network more, and then it was dinner time. At dinner I had 2 cokes, mashed potatos, roast beasst, green beans, and bread. After that I came back and finished unpacking and relaxed for a bit. Then it was time for a meeting. We went around and introduced ourselves, and then were issued brushes, mutt matts, tie downs, bene bones, these are different to the nylabones I am used to, and our leashes which we have to work on softening. Then we went over short leash, 3/4 leash, and long leash, the schedule, house rules, etc. Then I came back, argued with the network more, and that's about it!
